Pam Bannister (Chair)

Pam was appointed Chair of Mirus in 2008 but has been a trustee member with OHT since 2003. At the time of joining OHT two of her sons who have learning disabilities were supported by us.

Pam went to work for the Inland Review after leaving school. She left the Civil Service in 1963 to have her first of four children.

Over the next few years while looking after her children she also helped out in Ty Gwyn Special School in Cardiff. The Headmaster at the time persuaded her to enrol in a Teacher Training course which she started in Caerleon College in 1975.

After she completed her Teacher Training, Pam achieved a  degree in Special Education.

In 1980 she started work with the Health Service in Wales at the University of Wales Hospital and worked for them until her retirement in 2001 finishing as the Operation Services Manager at Velindre Hospital in Cardiff.

Pam is also on the Board of Governors of Ty Gwyn Special School.

Pam enjoys reading, listening to classical music and spending time with her family.
